Data & Account Deletion

Last updated: June 21, 2026 · Effective: June 21, 2026
You are always in control of your data. This page explains how to delete specific data, wipe your account, or close it entirely — either yourself in the app, or by emailing us. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Data Retention page.
On this page:
1. Delete data in the app 2. Request deletion by email 3. Disconnect a bank 4. What gets deleted 5. Contact

1. Delete data yourself in the app

The fastest way to remove data is from within Clear Mint:

  • Per-module erase — go to Settings → Data to clear specific areas (transactions, accounts, cards, investments, insurance, bills, subscriptions, assets, loans, reports).
  • Full Reset — in the same place, “Full Reset Account” permanently removes your account’s data.

Deleting a record removes it from your active dataset immediately, including anything imported with it.

2. Request account deletion or export by email

To close your account entirely, or to request a copy of your data, email support@clearmint.ca from the address on your account.

  1. Send your request to support@clearmint.ca with the subject “Account deletion request.”
  2. We may ask you to confirm your identity to protect your account.
  3. We process verified deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email when complete.

After deletion, your personal data is removed from our active systems; encrypted backups expire on a rolling schedule as described in Data Retention. We may keep limited records where the law requires (for example, billing records for tax purposes).

3. Disconnect a linked bank

If you linked a financial institution, you can disconnect it at any time from within the app. Disconnecting stops future data retrieval through our connectivity provider (Plaid), and you can delete the data already imported. You can also revoke access from your bank or from Plaid’s portal.

4. What gets deleted

  • Your profile and account record.
  • Financial entries you created and data you imported (statements, transactions, balances).
  • Connected-account data and stored last-four account numbers.
  • Subscription metadata held by us (full card data is held only by Stripe and governed by Stripe’s terms).

5. Contact
